Kuwaiti logistics firm Public Warehousing Company (PWC) has signed a deal with Computer Associates (CA) to use CA’s Unicenter management software. In addition PWC’s new IT section PWC Technology will implement the new software for the Kuwait customs project. “The CA Unicenter modules offer PWC a total solution when it comes to developing a fully integrated enterprise infrastructure that is easy to manage and can provide PWC with immediate cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency,” says Ghassan Farra, CIO at PWC Logistics. “CA is also providing onsite support which means that our IT personnel will be able to gain first hand knowledge of solutions implementation that will undoubtedly benefit PWC in the future.” PWC will have access to 24/7 customer support through CA’s Lebanon service center. CA plans to establish a direct presence in Kuwait by the end of 2005; the PWC contract was made through Kuwait Danish Computer Company, CA’s reseller in the country. “CA is pleased to announce its dual partnership with PWC, as it means that CA’s Unicenter enterprise IT management solutions will be rolled out across PWC as well as PWC Technology’s customer, Kuwait Customs Authority,” says Mahmoud El Ali, CA’s Gulf countries manager. “PWC is a market leader in supply chain and its decision to build on this partnership is a testament to the business benefits that CA Unicenter offers to any organisation.” CA currently supplies software solutions to a number of companies in the region, including Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company, Emirates Bank International and the Royal Court Affairs in Oman.
