Sun Microsystems has expanded its regional training team by adding six new partners, bringing the total number to eight, running 13 training centres across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The network technology vendor has appointed Al Khaleej-New Horizons to cover Saudi Arabia and Egypt; Automation and Computer Technologies and Navlink in Lebanon; Innosoft and Intelcom in Morocco, and LinuxPlus in Egypt. These companies join HumanSoft-New Horizons, which operates in Qatar, UAE and Kuwait and Diyar United in Kuwait as Sun training partners for the region. “Our new partnerships have been agreed with a long-term view in mind that will allow us to provide a continuous local presence in a variety of markets across the region,” said Thomas Bayer, regional manager, Sun Microsystems MENA. The new training partners will enhance Sun’s local presence in the Levant and the GCC and widen the skill base of both customers and channel partners through the training they offer, covering Solaris, Java, network and JES products. “Our training partners will be able to offer true IT solutions to their customers by incorporating high-standard Sun training. The IT market is acutely competitive at the moment, and success depends on establishing solid links with customers across the region, and providing a range of services in addition to basic products. Our training partnerships will give us this added edge,” he continued. The latest additions to Sun’s portfolio of training partners shows commitment to the region and is the next step in an aggressive strategy to increase the vendor’s exposure in the Middle East.
