Middle East mobile device powerhouse i-mate has boosted its channel-to-market with the appointment of Cellucom as an authorised distribution partner for the GCC. Cellucom plans to promote i-mate’s range of cutting-edge devices at Gitex Shopper 2005. Cellucom had already been selling i-mate products through its retail outlets. With authorised distributor status secured, Cellucom will now have a direct buying relationship with i-mate and will have the opportunity to expand sales to resellers and other retailers across the GCC. “i-mate’s exceptional success in Middle East and Africa (MEA) has presented the growing need for outstanding customer service,” said Steffan De Rosairo, sales director MEA at i-mate. “Cellucom’s strength and track record in this space presented us with the ideal solution to provide our valuable customers with accessible and quick customer service. Cellucom’s widespread regional retail outlets and reseller channels will also help meet the pent-up demand for i-mate products across MEA.” Ajay Nagar, executive director at Cellucom, commented: “We are pleased to be appointed as authorised distributors for i-mate in the region. Cellucom has already been extensively marketing i-mate products, and the partnership has been further strengthened by i-mate’s decision to choose Cellucom as one of its authorised distributors.” “We will ensure that i-mate benefits considerably from our ability to distribute vast volumes of products with the support of i-mate’s quick, on-time deliveries, not to mention our consistently high standards of customer service,” he added. “Cellucom is focused on bringing the latest range of mobile communication devices to the Gulf markets and providing our customers with value-added services, including lifetime warranty, regional warranty and 30-minute repair or replacement services. We will prominently highlight the i-mate range of mobility products during Gitex Shopper 2005, where Cellucom will have a strong presence,” Nagar concluded. Cellucom has a solid retail presence across the GCC covering the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman. The company represents a number of major handset vendors including Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung.
