Local assembler Art International Technology is gearing up for its first Gitex. The company is planning to boost its portfolio at the event, as it looks to take on the international IT giants operating in the region and establish itself as a major brand across the Middle East. Sales & marketing manager Ata AbdelRahman says Art’s Gitex presence in hall four shows how high the company’s sights are set. “It’s not easy to be in hall four because there are the likes of HP, Toshiba, IBM, Dell, Sony and all the big vendors there too. However, we’re targeting to be one of them so we have to be there standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them. Whatever technology they are using inside their computers, we are using the same or better. In a couple of years we too will be huge,” he explains. “Our aim at the show this year is to educate our partners and end users about our brand. We need to get into the market and show them that our products are competitive.”
