Although MTC is already a dominant force in the Middle East memory distribution channel, it is also the company behind the fast-growing GenX PC and peripherals brand. Building up a regional route-to-market is a top priority for the GenX team, and Gitex provides the company with the perfect platform to meet potential partners from across the region. “GenX has the potential to be a major brand in the Middle East and North Africa market,” says Mohammed Rizwan Noor, vice president at MTC. “We know exactly what it takes to build up a brand that can compete effectively with the A-brand vendors in the market.” GenX already has a large portfolio of peripherals and accessories and is accelerating into the digital device, desktop and notebook arenas. According to Noor, GenX plans to use a focused distribution model that ensures decent channel margins and encourage partners to invest the resources required to build up the GenX brand in the territories that they cover.
