BenQ’s UAE distributors could be flying the firm’s flag at this year’s show, reflecting the company’s ‘two C’ strategy of components and computing. At present BenQ is still in the process of deciding whether or not to host its own stand at this year’s Gitex. “One reason is that we’re highly satisfied with our channel structure,” claims Manish Bakshi, general manager of BenQ Middle East and Africa. “That’s why we’re focusing more on Gitex Shopper, to help our second tier, reseller partners.” Whether or not BenQ ends up exhibiting, it still plans to use Gitex 2005 as the launch platform for several new products. Firstly, it will expand its LCD TV range by increasing the size of its largest model with the launch of the DV3750. It will also unveil brand new home theatre projector models.
