Regional distribution powerhouse Empa will not have a stand at Gitex this year, opting for a meeting area in the Fairmont hotel instead. The distributor says this way it can liase with its reseller and vendor partners. “We have the meeting place because it gives us a better chance to have one to one interviews with our partners to discuss our mutual progress. This applies to both the vendors and resellers. A lot of our vendors do not have an office in the region, so Gitex is a good time to meet them,” says Shibu John Mathew, marketing manager, Empa Middle East. Empa will be present at Gitex through the stands of the vendors it carries, which will ensure it gets good exposure at the show. Currently, the firm has a portfolio that includes Intel, Toshiba, Infineon, Kingston, MST, Biostar, MSI, Fujitsu, Liteon, Acer, Hynix, Surecom and Microsoft Business Solutions.
