Hardware giant Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) will be looking to make its rivals green with envy at this year’s show, as it showcases its entire product range from high end servers to personal digital assistants and consumer products. Even if it doesn’t succeed in making competitors green, FSC is promising to make its own PC range that colour. “The exhibition will give us an opportunity to showcase our newer products that customers may not have had a chance to see first hand,” says Sheila Bibi, marketing and communications director, international sales region, FSC. “One such product range will be the Esprimo professional PCs — the world’s first complete product family of eco-friendly ‘Green’ PCs. Having received its worldwide and regional launch last month, we are keen to promote this innovative new PC range to SME and LE customers,” she claims. FSC claims the development of this range is in line with the company’s long term environmental strategy and will meet the EU’s forthcoming legislation on the restriction of hazardous substances a full six months before it is enforced — the first IT company to do so. However, the company will also showcase its high-end dynamic data centre concept for business customers, while offering consumers a chance to sample its digital home experience. “The Dynamic Data Centre (DDC) will be the centrepiece for us at the show as we continue to offer our enterprise customers manageable and cost effective solutions to optimise their IT infrastructures,” says Bibi. “Based on three core technologies — virtualisation, automation and integration — FSC will offer consolidated, flexible solutions to fit the requirements of all major companies,” she adds. To more effectively showcase its high-end solutions, FSC will be hosting a VIP room where customers will be able to see its server product range, including blade servers and storage solutions, as well as solutions for the Dynamic Data Centre. “In our mainframe business we have accrued more than 30 years of experience in enterprise computing, and it is this experience that forms the basis of our DDC — an innovative approach that is setting standards for IT infrastructure optimisation,” says Bibi. This year’s show will be the fourth that FSC has participated in, and the company sees it as a solid platform from which to promote itself and its product portfolios. “FSC is a rapidly expanding brand and Gitex is a perfect medium to convey our successes and illustrate first hand the reasoning for this continued growth,” says Bibi.
