Despite a delay in the construction of its regional office, it remains all systems go at Oki Printing Solutions, which has just held a training session in Jordan. The event was held in association with Oki’s in-country distributor, Modern Arabian Business Corporations (Mabco). The Jordanian training took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Amman and was attended by Oki distributors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Syria and Kuwait. Oki has assumed a ‘business as usual approach’ and continued with its regional plans even though building setbacks have delayed the opening of its office at the Dubai Airport Free Zone until mid-September. “We are carrying on as normal. We’re still meeting with our distributors and doing business and we have nearly completed our staff recruitment drive,” said John Ross, general manager at OKI Middle East. “The event in Jordan today is just one of the many ways we will help our partners become more competitive by selling products that are not only superior in performance, but supported by exceptional after-sales support and service.” The event in Jordan focused on improving distributors’ skills on the latest range of Oki monochrome multifunction products, dot matrix and monochrome page printers, including its recently released ‘Graphic Arts’ range. Oki engineers flew in from the UK to work with Mabco technicians and provide them with additional hands-on training for workshops and customer environments. “Oki products have specific differentiators when compared to other printing solutions in the market: speed, performance and reliability. We are ensuring that Oki customers across the region continue to be delighted with the vendor’s offerings in the market,” said Nader Hasan, Oki product manager at Mabco Jordan. “We announced the establishment of our Middle East headquarters so that we can work more closely with our channel partners and help them differentiate themselves from the rest of the market. The event in Jordan today is just one of the many ways we will help our partners become more competitive,” said Ross. Oki plans to recruit a 14-strong team based in Dubai to co-ordinate its regional operations.
