The main aim of Dubai eGovernment’s participation in Gitex this year is to promote its range of e-services and increase awareness among the general public and corporates about the benefits of using online tools and services of Dubai government At this year’s show, the eGovernment team will host a number of government departments, and there will be a number of workstations set up to highlight their online offerings and demonstrate the benefits of solutions such as electronic transactions. In addition, Dubai eGovernment will spend much of the five day event promoting some of its already popular services, such as mDubai, eCitizen, eLibrary, ePay and Askdubai. As most of the government departments will be participating in Gitex under the umbrella of Dubai eGovernment, a few special promotions are planned for the event. The Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department, for instance, will be giving a special offer for the eGate card. The Dubai eGovernment team hopes that, at Gitex, it will be able to highlight its pivotal role as a facilitator of services. “Visitors to the Dubai eGovernment stand will gain new insights into our achievements in leveraging cutting edge technology to simplify and speed up government transactions and eliminate the need for physical visits to various departments,” says Salem Al Shair, eServices director at Dubai eGovernment.
