Canadian broadband solutions provider Mitel Networks believes attendance at Gitex this year is significant given the growth in competition in many telecoms sectors in the Middle East region. The company is looking to use the event to introduce new products, including the CXi Controller, which simplifies communications and offers everything needed to support phones and, fax machines. Mitel will also be showcasing its Navigator product, which is planned for release in 4Q05. Mitel Navigator is a communications device that enhances the delivery of voice, video and data convergence on the desktop. Gitex will also be used to create awareness for Mitel’s 3600 Hosted Key System, which allows carriers to provide hosted VoIP key systems for small business. “We are keen to use this event to support outstanding efforts for our IP bid with regional telecoms operators,” says Hisham Amili, regional general manger for Mitel in the GCC. “We also see this event as an opportunity to support partners identified at the last Gitex event, as well as a chance to interact with potential business associates.”
