Oracle is set to unveil its boldest Gitex offering yet, boosted by the company’s recent acquisitions of leading application firms in 2005, and new releases of its database and collaboration suite. Oracle now boasts the combined efforts of PeopleSoft and JD Edwards, as well as those of retail business solution provider Retek and real-time data management software firm TimesTen. Gitex provides the first opportunity for the widest possible base of Oracle’s regional customers and partners to learn how these strategic deals can improve their ability to process information and make more informed decisions — the core theme of Oracle’s Gitex 2005 offering. “The company’s promise for Gitex 2005 — “Better Information for Better Business” — means that we will be demonstrating firsthand how the Oracle E-Business Suite and the Oracle technology platform work together for hundreds of organisations in the region to make them more efficient, more competitive, and ultimately, more profitable,” says Ayman Abouseif, the recently-appointed GCC managing director of Oracle. To substantiate its claims around the benefits of its solutions, Oracle will host a number of successful customers at its Gitex exhibition space. End users from the teleco, logistics, financial, and government sectors have committed themselves to speaking about the benefits their Oracle solutions provide. Oracle will also preview the latest release of the Oracle Database 10g during the exhibition, emphasising the features that make it the platform of choice for the Middle East and beyond. “Gitex gives us the opportunity to showcase the latest software, just unveiled in the US, while making these new releases relevant to the Middle East market,” says Abouseif.
