Adobe Systems, a Gitex veteran of eight years, has some exciting plans up its sleeve for this year’s event, including software master classes from international industry experts, as well as new versions of its software in both English and Arabic. “In addition to our stand we have booked an 50 seat auditorium style venue. We will be running training sessions and master classes there all day. We have classes in the morning that our channel partners can sign up to and we are flying in a design specialist from South Africa to give the afternoon classes that anyone can sign up to,” says Andrew Lindstrom, Middle East North Africa and Pacific manager at Adobe. The vendor is also spicing up its stand with a host of consultants and professionals who will be on hand to give demonstrations on its key products, which includes software for design, video editing and usage of its .pdf file format. These experts include Terry Steeley, a professional photographer from the UK; Alan Rosenfeld, a certified Adobe instructor, Angie Taylor, a professional video editor and Dr David Stephenson, one of the foremost .pdf technology experts in Europe. Adobe hopes this input will set it apart from other showcases at Gitex. “We want to speak to customers that are using our technology, and give them something that isn’t a showcase,” Lindstrom says. “The challenge with showcases is that people only sit there watching them because they are tired. They’re not there to look at anything in particular. The workshop scenario is about customers that have bought our products and are using them, we are offering them master classes by professionals,” he adds.
