ProCurve Networking by HP will use Gitex to launch the ProCurve call centre in the region. The Dubai-based call centre aims to provide free bilingual phone and e-mail support and will cover the whole of the Middle East and Egypt. The vendor’s call centre’s phone number is +9714 366 2020 with operating hours from 9am to 7pm, Saturday to Thursday. As well as bringing the call centre to the attention of existing customers, ProCurve is targeting new customers, with Africa being highlighted as an important source of business. “We are expecting to see a lot more traffic from Africa. It has been in dribs and drabs in the last few years, but we’re expecting it to become very significant this year. Business across Africa, from north to central to south has been heating up lately and we will benefit from that,” says Ivan Kraemer, sales & marketing director, Procurve by HP. ProCurve will bring a host of high profile executives to the region, including worldwide VP John McHugh, for the show in a bid to impress these customers. On the technology side, ProCurve will emphasise its voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions. HP has recently secured regional successes in this field, including a deal to establish a multi-channel call centre for the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). In addition, ProCurve will focus on management tools such as HP’s Secure Mobility solution, ProCurve Network Manager Plus 2.0, and Identity Driven Manager 1.0. Identity Driven Manager is designed to provide secure network access based on defined user profiles and access rights and will be demonstrated at the show. ProCurve will also use the show to educate users on its significant move into the wide area network (WAN).
