McAfee takes partner

Security software firm McAfee is taking the partner route to this year’s Gitex show by teaming up with its distributors and resellers to get its message to the greatest number of visitors.

Security software firm McAfee is taking the partner route to this year’s Gitex show by teaming up with its distributors and resellers to get its message to the greatest number of visitors. Described by McAfee’s territory manager for Bahrain, Oman and the Levant, Naji Robehemd, as a dedicated security software company, McAfee offers the full gamut of network ready security solutions. The firm will be loading up the Gitex stands of its regional distributors, solution providers and system integrators with its antivirus and intrusion prevention solutions, which in turn should ensure its products and solutions are visible to as many potential customers. “We are working with our partners because this approach gives people a much better view of our offerings,” explains Robehemd. “They can go to a stand relevant to their area of specific interest instead of heading to a specific security booth.” It wasn’t always this way, as McAfee has taken its own stand at some previous Gitex events. However the company has learnt that this is the best strategy for it to get the most from the exhibition. “We’ve had stands in the past, but we saw that the result of working with partners was much better. This brought us much better value and gives more value to our customers,” Robehemd adds. Robehemd claims the firm’s ‘Intrushield’ intrusion prevention and ‘Foundstone’ vulnerability management solutions are key offerings this year. “These types of product are becoming very popular now,” he says. As for Gitex itself, Robehemd claims the event remains as important as ever, particularly considering the speed at which the industry is growing. “Gitex manages to bring together different sections of the IT industry within one room,” he asserts.
