Royal Jordanian and Austrian Airlines have increased operations between Amman and Vienna, under a code share agreement signed by the two airlines. The deal will see the number of flights between the two cities increase to eight a week. “For the last two decades RJ has had a distinguished relationship with Austrian Airlines, and the latest agreement will help grow our partnership, which is in line with our airlines’ plans of boosting operations between Jordan and Austria,” said Hussein Dabbas, vice president commercial, Royal Jordanian. The deal will allow RJ passengers travelling to Vienna to continue their with OS to destinations across the European continent, whereas passengers from Europe will be able to take advantage of RJ’s network in the Middle East. “By cooperating with our network partner we can offer passengers a significantly improved service, not only between Austria and Jordan, but also between Europe and the Middle East region. In addition to Amman, our network comprises several other cities in the region like Aleppo, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus and Dubai,” said Josef Burger, CCO Austrian Airlines. RJ, who first operated flights to Vienna in 1975, also has a number of code share agreements with other international airlines like Gulf Air, Iberia, Cyprus Airways, Air Canada and America West Airlines.
