eCompany introduces ICDL

Syllabus Version 4.0 courses will be made available on the LearnOnline eLearning site.

eCompany has announced the introduction of ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) Version 4.0 courses in Arabic and English on the LearnOnline site. This will give aspirants a reasonably priced opportunity to take advantage of this end-user computer skills certification course. The ICDL programme is the world's largest vendor-neutral end-user computer skills certification and is internationally recognised as the global benchmark in this area. The ICDL version 4.0 libraries contains courses such as Basic Concepts of IT, Using the Computer and Managing Files, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database, Presentation, and Information and Communication. Moreover, ICDL GCC Foundation has approved the Arabic courses and the European Computer Driving Licence Foundation (ECDL-F) has approved the English courses. Susan Bodinson, general manager of Element K Middle East says, “By offering the Element K Middle ICDL Syllabus 4.0 Courses in both English and Arabic we are able to address the training needs of both our Arabic speaking and English speaking customers.” According to Abdulla Hashim, senior manager of eCompany, “These additions significantly increase the online learning opportunities available through the LearnOnline site. The ICDL courses give citizens an opportunity to function successfully in the information society by providing them with the skills required to use technology. This initiative is also in line with UAE Government initiatives in all sectors of the government, and educational sector to provide employees with the relevant IT skills and enhance the Digital Literacy which is a key driver for the nation’s future socio-economic progress.”
