Emtech named top VAR

Emtech Computers has been named by security solutions vendor Sonicwall as value added reseller (VAR) of the year at a recent training event in Dubai. The reseller did over US$1m of business for Sonicwall since the two companies teamed up in 2004.

Emtech Computers has been named by security solutions vendor Sonicwall as value added reseller (VAR) of the year at a recent training event in Dubai. The reseller did over US$1m of business for Sonicwall since the two companies teamed up in 2004. “We are very pleased to receive the award and have worked very hard over the last year. We are very pleased with the success we have had in the market so far and had some fantastic business this year, including two deals for over US$100,000 at Xerox Middle East and Readymix Abu Dhabi. We certainly hope we can build on this success over the coming twelve months,” said Vijayan K. Raman, managing director at Emtech. Emtech serves the UAE market and was established in 1993 by Raman and a colleague after leaving Etisalat. The company has grown rapidly and now has a team of 30 engineers, including two engineers dedicated solely to Sonicwall installations. Speaking at its product update and training session at the Renaissance Hotel in Dubai, Shahnawaz Sheikh, sales manager GCC at Sonicwall was pleased with progress in the region so far. “Since we established our office here in January 2004 our sales have gone through the roof. We are seeing growth of 60% to 70% year-on-year. In addition Sonicwall is expanding its regional footprint and winning key accounts. Sonicwall is very pleased and honoured to award Emtech with the title of best VAR. The company has done some fantastic work for us over the last year and we are very proud to include them, and all our resellers, in our portfolio,” said Sheikh “We have a very dedicated team here, and I look forward to our mutual growth in this region. Our short term goals are to have a successful Gitex and then expanding our channel partner base,” he concluded.
