HP has reclaimed the leadership position in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) notebook PC market, according to a Canalys report. The vendor recaptured the top spot with 16.4% market share. The report says HP’s unit shipments for the notebook segment in EMEA grew at 55.5% year-on-year, 11% more than the industry growth rate. “The market has confirmed HP as the EMEA mobile vendor of choice, and these results further reinforce our place in and commitment to the notebook business,” says Hazem M. Bazan, general manager, personal systems group at HP Middle East. “The Middle East is a key driver of the mobility wave in EMEA and is a major contributor to the success of HP’s leadership in the mobile marketplace,” he adds. HP has become more aggressive in the EMEA market, with particular strength in the Middle East," comments Canalys. HP delivers a wide range of notebook products in the industry. To best meet customer needs, the company offers flexibility in how people and businesses can purchase notebook PCs, whether directly via HP’s website, through its reseller network or in retail outlets.
