Kurdistan Airlines appoints Dnata as its GSA

After recently launching services to Dubai, the Iraqi-based airline has appointed Dnata Agencies as its general sales agent in the region.

Dnata Agencies has been appointed the general sales agent for Kurdistan Airlines, representing the airline in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman. The airline, which is based in Arbil, Iraq, recently launched a twice-weekly flight to Dubai with a Boeing 737 aircraft in a two-class configuration. “We recently launched the first ever commercial flight between Dubai and Arbil and this air link will help contribute to the development of the Kurdistan region in Iraq,” said Yahya Ali, commercial representative, Kurdistan region, Kurdistan Airlines. “We believe there is a great potential to increase demand and we are pleased to have appointed Dnata Agencies as our sales agent for the Gulf markets. Their expertise and extensive partner network in the region will be a great asset in supporting the airline’s operations in the Gulf.” In Dubai, Dnata Agencies will provide Kurdistan Airlines with a dedicated ticket desk on the ground floor of the Dnata Travel Centre, it will also manage the airline’s ticket stock throughout the UAE and provide sales and marketing support for the region via its partner network. In addition Kurdistan Airlines can access Dnata’s 24 hour call centre for flight information, bookings and general travel support. “We are pleased to represent Kurdistan Airlines as sales agent in the Gulf region, and we will tap into our extensive regional network of partner agencies to support and grow the airline’s business,” added Rashid Al Noori, senior vice president, Dnata Agencies.
