Internet Security Systems (ISS) has released new components for its Managed and Monitored Firewall Service. The changes allow a more scalable pricing model for customers. The vendor has increased its managed firewall feature set and developed a tiered service model to more heavily focus on the specific pricing and service requirements for small, medium and large enterprise organisations. Through this new pricing structure, customers can obtain managed firewall services starting as low as US$300 a month. “Much of the market has maintained the status quo with managed firewall services that lack innovation and fail to meet customers’ ever-changing needs,” says Rick Miller, vice president of Managed Security Services at ISS. “ISS is setting a new standard in the market by carefully tailoring our offerings for various-sized organisations,” he adds. In addition to a tiered pricing model, other new features include seamless access to security intelligence from ISS’ X-Force R&D group and bundled vulnerability management capabilities. ISS is also offering security event monitoring capabilities that provide real-time updates on firewall activity, extended VPN support and enhanced service level agreements (SLAs) that provide for emergency change implementation. The ISS Managed and Monitored Firewall Service covers models from all major vendors such as Cisco, Check Point and Juniper.
