CNN International has signed on as the exclusive media partner for a series of international leadership summits around the world, including November’s Leaders in Dubai event. The 24-hour news network has expanded its partnership with Leading Minds, organisers of the conferences, to include Scandinavia (Copenhagen), Moscow, Sydney and Europe (Munich), following its participation at last years Leaders in Dubai and London events. “When the world’s leaders have something to say, they say it on CNN, and associating with the premiere event about leadership and vision reinforces our standing in this area – it’s a perfect proposition for us,” said Kevin Razvi, executive vice president CNN International ad sales. “There’s a natural relationship between the summits’ participants and our viewers: their audience is our audience. It could not be a better fit for us.” CNN will have branding on all literature, and plasma screens at the events will be show the channel. CNN’s international presenters will also moderate some of the sessions. An advertising campaign airing on CNN International and on CNN.com, will be targeted to reach the maximum number of viewers, with the online ads being targeted according to geographical location. “We are delighted to be working on a global level with CNN on our 2005 Leadership summit series,” said Tina Schneidermann, CEO at Leading Minds. “The global spread of world business coverage on CNN means its audience fits in well with the range and type of leader that attend our Leadership summit series." Leaders in Dubai 2005, which takes place on November 28 and 29 at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai features speakers Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton, Madeline Allbright, Dr Mahathir bin Mohamed and Kenichi Ohmae. In a separate move, Qatar Airways has announced that it will sponsor CNN International’s ‘Quest’ programme. The monthly half hour show features interviews with world figures. The airline will sponsor the website and programme, which is fronted by Richard Quest, and a series of 60 second vignettes will run alongside Qatar Airways’ advertising spots.
