Etisalat’s ICT solutions unit, eCompany, has announced the commercial availability of iZone, its public hot spot internet service across 90 locations in the UAE. The iZone service, which has been tested for some months at select locations, is currently available in convention centres, airports, major hotels and coffee shops across the UAE. A multiple payment option is available, and includes Etisalat prepaid cards and co-branded iZone cards in denominations of one hour, three hours, 12 hours and 24 hours. Users can also use credit cards to purchase usage time online. Visitors to the UAE can use internet roaming credentials for internet access at iZones and GSM subscribers have the option of having the usage fees charged to their number. Users can also subscribe to the iZone service, which incorporates a monthly rental for a given number of hours each month. “The widespread availability of the iZone service reflects our mission to provide high-speed internet access to users throughout the UAE and eCompany is using a creative array of approaches, partnerships and resources to make the promise of the web available to all kinds of customers,” said Abdulla Hashim, senior manager of eCompany.
