The bizarre web service of the month has to go to Fontifier (www.fontifier.com), a brand new online firm that helps you transform your own handwriting into a PC font. The process is very simple: just print out Fontifier’s template sheet, write in your alphabet characters on it, scan the template, save it, and then preview your very own font, which is usable in word processor and graphics programs on both PC and Mac. At this point, if you’re truly won over, you must part with the princely sum of $9 to download your font to your machine. The only remaining question then is this – are you really that much of an egomaniac?
