US Robotics pumps up the channel volume

A sizzling summer promotion is helping networking vendor US Robotics beat the summer blues and pump up channel sales volumes during the notoriously slow months of July and August. A combination of attractive price points and reseller rewards is US Robotics’ recipe for channel success.

A sizzling summer promotion is helping networking vendor US Robotics beat the summer blues and pump up channel sales volumes during the notoriously slow months of July and August. A combination of attractive price points and reseller rewards is US Robotics’ recipe for channel success. The ‘Beat the Heat’ promotion, running until 18th August, is open to resellers in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Yemen, Egypt and the UAE purchasing product from authorised US Robotics distributors. Based on the value of products purchased, resellers receive travel vouchers as a reward. Sumit Kumar, regional manager at US Robotics, explained: “There are different awards attached to different products. The rewards are higher on non-analogue products than analogue products. For example, a reseller purchasing US$100,000 of non-analogue products would receive US$3,500 in travel vouchers. For analogue products, they would receive US$1,250.” To kick-start sales and boost reseller interest, US Robotics has coupled its channel promotion with an aggressive pricing strategy that has seen the list price on some products reduced by 25%. “The promotion is going extremely well,” added Kumar. “It has been well received by the distributors and resellers are very keen to participate. Year-on-year, weekly sales during this promotion have been double the figure recorded in 2004 for certain products in the Middle East.” With three weeks to go on its ‘Beat the Heat’ promotion, US Robotics remains confident that the scheme will continue to generate considerable interest from its channel partners across the region.
