QLogic signs with StorIT

QLogic has signed up StorIT as its value-added distributor (VAD) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. QLogic, which produces a range of components and software that facilitate the flow of data from storage devices through the network to servers, hopes to tap into StorIT’s 500-strong reseller base across the region.

QLogic has signed up StorIT as its value-added distributor (VAD) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. QLogic, which produces a range of components and software that facilitate the flow of data from storage devices through the network to servers, hopes to tap into StorIT’s 500-strong reseller base across the region. Suren Vedantham, managing director at StorIT Distribution, said: “QLogic is a proven leader in the storage network connectivity domain. As their VAD in the Middle East, StorIT will introduce the entire range of QLogic’s cutting edge technology products to the market backed by traditional top-notch sales and technical support to the channel. We are very upbeat about this partnership which will further enhance our portfolio of world’s leading enterprise data storage solutions.” “We are already in the process of rolling out Qlogic’s reseller development programme to our partner network consisting of VARs and systems integrators who provide data storage solutions in the region,” he added. “This program would equip the resellers with the necessary resources, tools and training needed to provide highly robust and cost effective solutions to their customers. StorIT’s Certified Sales and Technical team will also assist the channel by ensuring an efficient pre sales consultancy and post-sales support system. The overall objective is to achieve the level of success that QLogic enjoys in the rest of the world, which is outstanding,” Vedantham concluded. With their expertise in Storage management, strong distributor and reseller channels, StorIT will be able to help QLogic expand and grow further in this region.” NASDAQ-quoted QLogic works through OEM, reseller and systems integrator channels, producing controller chips, bus adapters, fabric switches and management software that form the backbone of storage networks. Major storage vendors including Dell, EMC, Fujitsu, Hitachi, HP, IBM, LSI and Sun use the vendor’s products. QLogic’s sales for the year ending June 2005 hit US$600m with after-tax profits in excess of US$160m. The vendor’s market capitalisation currently stands at US$2.1bn.
