Emirates is to add a second daily non-stop flight from Dubai to North America, due to the success of its initial non-stop service between the two cities. The additional flight will be served on an Airbus A340-500 to New York’s JFK International Airport. ”North America is an important market for us and our move to increase flights is a direct result of strong customer demand for Emirates’ passenger and cargo services. It also signals our commitment and confidence in the growth of the market,” said Nigel Page, senior vice president, commercial operations for The Americas, Emirates. “With flights now departing in both the morning and the evening, we will provide greater service and access for business and leisure travellers from North America to the Middle East,” added Page. Since beginning services last year to America Emirates A340-500 in-flight system has been heralded throughout North America for its passenger services and amenities including 12 fully enclosed first class suites with flat beds and sliding doors that can be opened or closed for privacy. Other features include quieter cabins, revolutionary lighting to help reset body clocks and minimise jetlag, an in-flight entertainment system with 500+ channels and room service in first class so customers can phone the galley to order meals.
