Hi-Force is planning to further expand its activities in and around the Caspian region, before the end of 2005, as well as opening an additional Hi-Force office in Iran. The British company manufactures, supplies and services high pressure hydraulic tools. “Following the establishment of the [Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan] BTC pipeline and the associated infrastructure developments that are ongoing in the region, Hi-Force has realised the tremendous potential for its products and services in and around the Caspian Sea,” said CEO Kevin Brown. “At the outset of the BTC pipeline project, many multi-national contracting companies entered the region and we merely followed along behind them to support their project requirements. Due to the initial success we had between mid 2000 and early 2004 we realised that the market could easily sustain the setting up of a regional office in Baku.” In the past few months, Hi-Force has been able to satisfy demand in the region for ‘Bolting Products’, primarily hydraulic torque wrenches and stud bolt tensioners. These products are designed to ensure that leak free joint integrity is maintained through accurate and consistent tensioning of stud bolts. With oil prices riding high, investment in the region is set to continue. Additional pipelines are planned and the involvement of multi-national firms may be an essential part of the continuing development of the Caspian.
