Dubai-based communications and IT services provider East Meets West (EMW) has signed up as a value-added reseller (VAR) for Avaya. As an Avaya Business Partner, EMW will push IP telephony and wireless solutions to customers across a number of verticals. EMW plans to complement Avaya’s portfolio with its own extended range of services to deliver integrated call centre solution that also utilise a number of third party vendor products. EMW has a team of 50 staff based at its Middle East headquarters in Dubai and also has satellite offices in Oman and Iraq. The company plans to triple its Middle East headcount during the next 12 to 18 months. “One of the key advantages we can offer to customers looking to implement Avaya solutions is that 50% of the Middle East team have hands-on experience with Avaya for many years,” said Serjios El-Hage, EMW’s managing director for South West Asia. “This valuable experience, which averages 15 years with the Dubai team, means customers can have confidence in our consulting, installation and servicing abilities with Avaya products,” Roger El-Tawil, Avaya’s Middle East channel and marketing manager, commented: “EMW’s extended service offerings and ability to integrate Avaya products for total communication solutions makes it an exciting addition to Avaya’s VAR portfolio. We look forward to working together as the region is offering greater opportunities for integrated projects.” “The Avaya Business Partner programme enhances our ability to look beyond current trends,” continued El-Hage. “By working in conjunction with Avaya, we can develop timely and efficient solutions for our customers that will contribute to revenue savings and improve the service they offer to their clients through an integrated communications policy.” “The EMW differentiator is its ability to totally integrate Avaya products with other EMW VAR third-party vendor solutions such as Trapeze and Foundry Networks. For example, EMW is able to offer secured mobility integration with the Avaya platform and demonstrated this live at the Avaya Road Show in May 2005,” he concluded.
