Orbit Communication Company has completed phase one of its relocation from Rome to Bahrain. Phase 1 involved the relocation of 13 Orbit channels, all of which will now be transmitted directly from the Orbit Network Centre in Bahrain. The Centre, which is located in the Ministry of Information compound, is currently under construction in preparation for the completion of Phase 2 this fall. "Substantial expansion of our subscriber base in the region has necessitated the move to the region,” says Ghassan Itani, chief operating officer, Orbit. “This relocation brings us closer to our subscribers and consolidates our operations and offices at the same time." Orbit has also opened three additional retail outlets in Kuwait as part of its expansion into the Kuwaiti market. "Continuing to build on our strength in the Kuwait market, the new Orbit retail points are part of the company's ongoing expansion initiatives in the Middle East," comments Omar Shams, Orbit Country Manager, Kuwait. "The new showroom in Dajeej, Farwaniya and the kiosks in Virgin Mega Stores, Marina Mall and Sharq Mall are strategically located to offer our customers increased accessibility and provide best after sales support along with great value for money packages that offer the best mix of Western and Arabic entertainment."
