Fujitsu Siemens Computers claims its Stylistic ST series has grabbed a massive 60% of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) slate tablet PC market. According to new market figures from industry analyst Canalys, FSC’s Stylistic Slate Tablet PC outperformed all of its direct competitors in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in the first quarter of 2005, with sales of approximately 6,000 and 60.6% overall market share. FSC also claims the number one position in the total tablet PC market for the same EMEA region, with a Canalys-quoted market share of 26.9%. However, in the Middle East only this figure is somewhat lower. According to IDC Middle East, FSC's tablet PC market share here stood at 15% for Q1 05. “Our many years of experience in this field and constant contact with and feedback from customers are the secret to our success and top EMEA market position,” said Susanne Lewitzki, product marketing manager at Fujitsu Siemens Computers Middle East. “Additionally our Mobile Workforce campaign, concentrating in pragmatic mobility solutions, helped us to achieve this market share of more than 60%.” FSC offers a broad range of tablet PCs, segmented into its Stylistic ST and Lifebook T product families. These include both slate and so-called ‘convertible’ units, with display sizes spanning from 10.4- to 12.1-inches.
