Saudi Arabia-based Al Jammaz Telecom, an in-country Cisco authorised distributor, has signed up 15 new partners on the back of its successful appearance at Gitex Saudi Arabia earlier this year taking its total reseller breadth above the 400 mark. The in-country distribution specialist is also looking to expand its product portfolio and plans to add three new vendors by September 2005. Unlike many other distributors in Saudi Arabia that often remain focused on one particular city or province, Al Jammaz now has a solid spread of partners throughout the Kingdom. Sam Lutfallah, sales and marketing director at Al Jammaz, claims that 40% of the distributor’s resellers are based in the Riyadh area with 30% in Jeddah, 20% in Khobar and 10% in remote regions. “Al Jammaz offers resellers local presence and national coverage,” explained Lutfallah. “Every reseller has an assigned account manager to ensure faster response and we have stock availability at multiple warehouse locations. This is backed up by dedicated customer support and services, a hotline and technical support, special discounts and promotions, cash rebates and credit facilities.” With strong demand for networking products across the Kingdom, Al Jammaz is signing up partners in several different channel categories including systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and internet service providers (ISPs). Al Jammaz's local presence offers significant advantages to Saudi resellers buying Cisco kit compared to purchasing from distributors outside the Kingdom, including the ability to return defective or wrongly selected products quickly and easily. Al Jammaz has three main goals for the remainder of 2005. “The aim is to expand the product portfolio, recruit even more partners and maximise channel revenue growth and the performance of our customer,” said Lutfallah. Expect Al Jammaz to diversify outside its current networking focus through the appointment of the three new vendors.
