Pepperl+Fuchs, a manufacturer of automation products, has opened up new premises at Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). The new facility will complement the company’s major expansion strategy in the Middle East. The company, which achieved total revenues of US $350 million in 2004, specialises in the manufacture of process and factory automation products as well as proximity switches, safety products and bus systems. “With a strong focus on research and development we will continue to innovate and bring reliable, state-of-the-art building blocks for automation, catering to industry segments like oil & gas, transport and packaging,” said Thampy Mathew, managing director, Pepperl+Fuchs. “By setting up our new facility in Jafza, we have also enhanced out potential to target lucrative markets in the region. Furthermore, Jafza provides us with a range of infrastructure facilities that are essential to achieve a high degree of business efficiency,” he added. In the Middle East, Peppel+Fuchs has a support network through its regional headquarters in Dubai as well as sales and distribution agents located in Saudi, Iran, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. However, with the new facility in Jafza, Pepperl+Fuchs will be able to focus on regional expansion, taking advantage of its proximity to the Jebel Ali seaport. “Jafza is today one of the most well-equipped free zones in the world and it is growing at a rapid pace, serving as a base for leading companies from diverse industrial sectors,” said Tariq Saqer Bin-Ghalaita, assistant regional manager, Europe, Jafza.
