WeightWatchers expands product line in Middle East

The popular dieting organisation is developing new lines of healthy products, making it easier for weight-conscious consumers to watch their calories

WeightWatchers is extending its product line in the Middle East to accompany its tried and tested dieting philosophy, so consumers following the popular program can monitor their ‘points’ more easily. Peach Slices comprises part of the tinned food range, which includes Apricot Halves, Fruit Salad, Peaches in Mango Puree and Pear Slices. Each product is marked with a points value so consumers can tally the number of daily points consumed within their allowed limit. WeightWatchers also advises serving size and a prescribed health benefit, in this case ‘no added sugar’. “We always try to create WeightWatchers foods to have the lowest possible points value for that type of food but if that’s not possible we try to produce items that have additional benefits, e.g. lower fat, reduced sugar or salt, better flavour, or clearly marked individual portions to make points tracking easier for you,” says a company statement. The products are packed for WeightWatchers by Australian company SPC Ardmona.
