Dnata win environmental award

Dnata Cargo win environmental award from DCV, after it swept the board on five key awareness issues.

Dnata Cargo has received the environmental awareness award from Dubai Cargo Village (DCV). Introduced in 2001, the award aims to motivate over 110 airline and cargo agents that operate in the DCV to adopt environmental protection methods in their operations. The award was presented by HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president, Dubai Civil Aviation and patron of the award, presented the trophy and certificate to Khalid Al Jowder, quality planning manager, Dnata. “We created the environmental awareness award to motivate and reward companies that demonstrate environmental consciousness to world-class standards. We believe that protecting the environment is important, and it requires the co-operation of everybody involved,” said Ali K. Al Jallaf, director, DCV. The award evaluates nominees on five key criteria: occupational health, cleanliness, recycling, smoking and employees’ environmental awareness with it being granted to the company with the best overall performance in all categories. The winner also receives a cash reward of US $7000. “This is a satisfying achievement for all Dnata Cargo staff. Everyone played their part in observing environmentally friendly practices, participating in recycling activities, and contributing new ways to implement best practice,” concluded Ismail Ali Albanna, executive vice president, Dnata.
