Castania nuts hit GCC shelves

Lebanese roasting company Castania has begun exporting its range of nuts to the GCC in a bid to expand its markets

The Lebanese roasting company Castania has introduced a range of nuts to the region. A market leader in its domestic market, where it was first established in 1985, the company exports to North America, Brazil, Europe and the Gulf countries, where it is attempting to gain market share. The company claims a retail coverage of 70-80%, with a fleet of vans that deliver twice a week to each customer. As well as supermarkets, Castania also supplies hotels, restaurants and nightclubs in Lebanon, with varying package sizes to suit each particular need. Castania peanuts arrive in a variety of flavours, including salted, peanuts with lemon, fried, sesame, and peanuts in the shell – both blanched and peeled. Vacuum packed in 25 gram and 75 gram aluminium bags to preserve freshness, the company claims that, ‘few nut brands attain the rare distinction of our taste’
