Epson has unveiled its latest consumer all-in-one photo centre. The Stylus Photo RX620 MFD is aimed squarely at photo fans looking to work with both digital and analog shots. The Epson RX620 offers an array of features to meet the demands of users needing to scan, print and store new and old images, making it what Epson claims is the most versatile and easy to use all-in-one photo printer around. With the RX620’s 2400 x 4800dpi MatrixCCD scanner, users can make quality copies of photos, whilst the machine’s unique direct print function helps users produce photos from old negative film sources. Thanks to the built-in high-resolution 2.5-inch preview LCD, users can also preview, edit, crop and restore their photos without needing a PC. This display also acts as the user interface, while the integrated memory card reader allows users to print direct from digital still cameras, camera phones and PDAs that support either PictBridge, USB Direct Print or Bluetooth technologies. “The Epson Stylus Photo RX620 builds on Epson’s impressive photo heritage and provides a unique solution to those who may not want to abandon analogue photo processes,” commented Khalil El-Dalu, general manager, Epson Middle East. “It allows old images to be restored with ease; with the added advantage of having them digitised and reproduced, bringing back lost clarity and colour.” The launch of the RX620 follows hot on the heels of Epson’s recent unveiling of another photo enthusiast device, the P-2000. This product allows users to load up to 40GB of digital pictures, movie content and music tracks, for entertainment and sharing on the move.
