Intel has launched its dual-core processors : Pentium D 820 at 2.8GHz, Pentium D 830 at 3.0GHz and Pentium D 840 at 3.2GHz , with 241, 316 and 530 dollars for shipments of 1000 units .The company has also made available, models launched are Pentium D 820 at 2.8GHz, Pentium D 830 at 3.0GHz and Pentium D 840 at 3.2GHz , with 241, 316 and 530 dollars for shipments of 1000 units . Beating the price of AMD Athlon X2 at 2.2 GHz , which is priced at $530, Intel has the upper hand currently for dual core CPUs.According to Ferhad Patel, Intel's Marketing Development Manager in the Middle East, Intel is also offering the 945 chipset platforms that carry technologies such as surround sound, high-definition video and improved graphics performances. “Intel's new home and office platforms mark a new era in personal computing that matches the way people are increasingly using their PCs to work, communicate, entertain and play,” said Samir Al-Schamma, Intel’s General Manager for the GCC. “The new platforms are tailored for specific market segments and provide business and consumer-friendly features.”
