Global network services provider Equant has chosen a Juniper Networks solution to deliver voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to business customers worldwide. Equant selected the Juniper Networks VF-3000 Series to offer secure session border control (SBC) features across the Equant Global VoIP network providing inter-VPN NAT (Network Address Translation) service. This enables Equant to support multiple vendors’ IP PBXs for multi-national customers. In addition, multiple security features will be deployed providing network protection for Equant and its business customers. “Equant selected Juniper Networks because it can provide a carrier grade solution that supports multiple IP PBX vendors over a VoIP VPN with a full menu of security features,” says Michael Burrell, Equant Voice & Video Solutions. “As our IP telephony services grow, we also know that the Juniper Networks Session Border Control solution can scale and grow with us,” he adds. Equant has the world's largest data network in terms of geographical coverage and offers a broad range of voice solutions to multinationals in a variety of industries. The sale represents Juniper swiftly leveraging its recent US$67.5 million acquisition of session border control specialist Kagoor. The VF-3000 was part of its Kagoor’s flagship Voice Flow line. SBC products sit at the network edge and ensure the reliable flow of real-time IP traffic across network boundaries. They enable carrier-to-carrier peering and are carrier-to-enterprise service and carrier-to-consumer service enablers.
