Security software vendor Trend Micro has awarded Kuwait-based Capricorn International Technology Group (CITG) Premium Partner status in recognition of the systems integrator’s prowess in the technology security arena. As a Premium Partner, CITG and Trend Micro will work on joint marketing initiatives, and CITG will receive priority support and customer lead information. “Everyone at Capricorn is delighted to have been recognized for our dedication to the IT security industry, and particularly to Trend Micro,” said Bassam Al-Baheeji, general manager at CITG. “Partnering with Trend Micro, the leading global provider of security solutions, has allowed us to step up our levels of service to our client base, and given them peace of mind. We look forward to delivering the next generation of security solutions to Kuwait’s business community over the coming months and years, in cooperation with Trend Micro,” he added. CITG has cared out a solid reputation as a provider of IT security support and services in Kuwait with a customer base spanning a selection of industries. “The Kuwaiti business community is increasingly aware of the potential risks that internet threats and viruses represent, and Capricorn has played a major role in raising the level of awareness of this issue in the region,” explained Nisar Khan, channel account manager at Trend Micro Middle East. “The award is in recognition of their work, and is a commitment that we will move forward together in developing advanced content security solutions,” he added. Trend Micro selects Premium Partners based on their track record and ability to provide technical support to customers. Before qualifying for Premium Partner status, CITG engineers had to pass Trend Micro’s advanced Level III certification — a process that required training from Trend Micro staff and technical examinations. CITG’s sales staff also had to gain a specific sales certification and the systems integrator had to produce a detailed business plan outlining its 2005 strategy. As a reward for their commitment, Trend Micro Premium Partners receive even more training and ongoing support from the vendor.
