IBM has unveiled its full list of channel champions for the last year, dishing out awards to partners from around the Middle East in recognition of their efforts and achievements selling IBM products and solutions. With IBM’s PartnerWorld channel programme now firmly established in the region, channel partners are working ever closer with Big Blue. “Our channel partners play a very important role in IBM’s business success in the region; these awards represent a small token of appreciation for their efforts,” said Mourad Zohny, business partner organisation (BPO) manager at IBM Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. “As far as we see, all our partners are winners. Together, we hope to keep up the hard work in the years to come.” Award winners were picked based on a sales and performance basis across several IBM business divisions including hardware, software and services. Saudi Business Machines (SBM) picked up the best contributing partner and the PC and IBM eServer xSeries sales awards for Saudi Arabia, while Riyadh House walked off with the PC sales award for the Kingdom. In the UAE, Al Abbas took home the PC and server sales award, with EBM and Gulf Business Machines (GBM) also receiving awards for their sterling server sales efforts. Computer Care went home happy with the award for the best resellers in the UAE in the bag. IBM partners in Kuwait also joined the prize party with Al-Yousifi grabbing a PC and server sales awards and Easa Husain Al-Yousifi and Sons picking up a gong for its contribution to server sales. Redington walked off with the prize for best PC distributor in Egypt and Infotech and IOP picked up awards for their sales efforts in Pakistan. At a GCC level, both Logicom and GBM Distribution took home a Big Blue accolade for their efforts in the distribution of PC products and the IBM eServer xSeries.
