Nicholas Argyrides has arrived in Dubai to take on the role of assistant general manager at Logicom. Argyrides will assume responsibility for Logicom Group’s GCC operations. Logicom’s new GCC boss joined the regional distributor in 2002, starting out as product manager before being promoted to country manager for Logicom Jordan in September 2003. Argyrides has taken on his new role with a clear vision of the objectives he hopes to achieve for Logicom’s GCC operations during the year ahead. “The main aims are to continue to increase the business while maintaining minimal credit risk,” explained Argyrides. “We are competing in the market with an ever-increasing number of distributors and sub-distributors and the channel is also fighting back against grey and counterfeit product.” “My strategic objectives are to continue adding value to the channel, to grow Logicom’s market share in the region even further and to maintain Logicom’s status as the distributor of choice in the GCC,” he added. Argyrides has arrived at an exciting time for Logicom in the GCC. The distributor successfully launched its new Jebel Ali warehouse in March 2005 to better serve customers within the free zone and to also enhance the efficiency of its distribution operation for resellers in the UAE and across the GCC. Logicom remains committed to building its local touch in the region through sales representatives and offices in key locations such as Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait, backed up by stocking points in strategic locations such as Kuwait. Customer service and channel education remain top priorities. “Our motto is ‘e-nabling your success’. This is exactly what we, as Logicom, do our best to achieve for our resellers. We are always ready to go the extra mile to make our clients happy and, not only reach, but also surpass their expectations. We believe that maintaining the professionalism of an international organisation along with the personal touch of a local company is the best way to stay closer to the customer,” concluded Argyrides. Argyrides has taken over from Omiros Pissarides, a popular personality in the GCC channel community. Pissarides plans to return to Cyprus, the location of Logicom’s corporate headquarters.
