DHL UAE has launched a road network campaign to build awareness of its extensive trucking services out of Jebel Ali. A branded DHL Hummer will be leading the campaign, highlighting the 3PL’s ability to move heavyweight consignments anywhere within the region and beyond. The Hummer is being used for a number of activities including a proximity marketing exercise within the Jebel Ali Free Zone where promotional staff will distribute ‘interactive’ direct mailers. It is also being used to increase awareness on the destinations DHL truck too with a ‘spot the hummer’ radio promotion. “Jebel Ali is currently one of DHL Middle East’s four major regional trucking hubs alongside Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Jordan,“ said Scott Dunn, marketing manager, DHL UAE. “We want to capture the attention of existing and potential clients prior to the opening of our state-of-the-art express logistics centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone at the end of the month.” The new US $3.5 million express logistics centre will include a dedicated logistics racking division and will act as a major trucking hub, bolstering DHL’s Gulf-wide trucking distribution network. “Our truck movements out of JAFZA are growing rapidly, increasing from one or two a day last year to around 15 a day,” added Dunn. Currently DHL’s key trucking destinations out of Jebel Ali include Istanbul, Jeddah, Cairo and Beirut.
