Computer Associate’s (CA) vice president of technology services in the Arab countries, Bjarne Rasmussen, will present CA’s strategy on securing and managing e-government infrastructure, themed “Successful Planning for Mission Critical e-Government Applications”, at the GCC’s e-government forum. The forum aims to address the main challenges facing e-governments across this region, and highlight the ideal solutions to overcome these challenges. According to Rasmussen, “In the GCC, CA solutions are supporting government departments with their national information technology plans, including e-government initiatives, as they strive to ease the life of the community and businesses, and realign IT to support department goals - all while helping ensure national security.” Security, infrastructure management, robust applications and cost effectiveness are the main technology challenges e-government projects face today and CA’s Enterprise Infrastructure Management (EIM) product strategy is designed with these core tenets in mind to help organisations realise an on-demand IT environment. The strategy is designed to offer a broad set of management solutions, enable integration among management software solutions through database systems, and ensure an open solution as the solutions also interface with and manage third-party management platforms. By providing solutions to identify and mitigate risk, intelligently manage assets, and collaborate across departments to optimise operational efficiency and address identity and access management concerns, CA supports the technology infrastructure of e-governments across the GCC. “CA helps government meet the increasing needs of citizens,” concludes Rasmussen.
