United Arab Emirates-based building materials supplier, Hepworth PME, has lost several key managers in a cull of its top brass. The company — which has been established in the UAE since 1974 — has recently been engaged in a major restructuring exercise, which has seen the departure of at least ten senior managers. And more jobs could go as the company embarks on a reorganisation programme. A company insider said: “There’s been a big clear-out over the last few months and at least ten top managers have already left the company. “I think that like a lot of companies, they have taken a look at their staffing levels and their overheads.” The company’s former financial controller is among the latest to have left. The Hepworth group is one of the leading construction product companies in the Gulf, employing around 400 staff. The group currently operates throughout the region, with bases in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan and Iran. The restructuring comes at a time when demand for building products within the UAE and the rest of the GCC countries has reached record levels. The firm was unavailable for comment.
