Fujitsu Siemens Computers is continuing to push its environment friendly credentials with the launch of its sixth so-called ‘Green PC’, the almost lead-free, quiet operator Scenic C620. Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ new Scenic desktop system has, according to its creators, been designed to be environmentally conscious throughout its full lifecycle, from the materials used to the production and recycling processes. The C620 Green PC uses the new lead-free Intel 915GV Express chipset, which minimises the lead content of the motherboard. The PC is also housed in a small form factor case, with integrated Intel GMA900 graphics, Serial ATA and four DIMM slots crammed in, in order to still offer users high performance. “We are the pioneers in introducing the concept of Green PC in the market,” said Sheila Bibi, marketing and communications director, International Sales Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “With the Scenic C620, we have been able to provide a technologically advanced computer with all the latest applications, while complying to international environmental norms and regulations.“ The PC’s optional multi-bay configures the slim optical disk drive to the specific user's needs and can also be used in FSC Lifebook E Series or Lifebook S Series notebooks for drive sharing. The optional intrusion detection switch in the Scenic C620 also allows the administrator to monitor unauthorised access to the PC. Fujitsu has been pushing its green stance and the overall theme of corporate responsibility for the past year. Last summer it responded to its own customer research by rolling out a new branding campaign based upon the concept of responsibility. According to Bibi, this initiative was designed "to promote the strong company image of being a responsible IT vendor. We continue with our customer promise: We make sure."
