This month the aptly named ‘IT Festival’ will open its doors as part of the official launch of ‘Deira Computer Land’ in Dubai, UAE. The event will run from May 11 to May 27 (between 4pm and 10pm each day) and the show’s organisers hope to attract what they term “mass market” traffic; in other words computer consumers looking to bag a bargain. Entry to IT Festival is free and once inside visitors will find 21 stands from companies as large as Microsoft, HP, Canon and LG Electronics. In addition, Computer Land will also be WiFi activated - offering shoppers free net access throughout the duration of the event. Due to feature a plethora of attractions, events, promotions and competitions, IT Festival is being promoted all month via newspapers, radio stations, road signs, on-site banners and even lazer lights. In order to make the show as competition packed as possible, each exhibitor is being asked to offer gifts worth at least Dhs 5,000. ‘Computer Land’ is effectively the first floor of the new three-floor Dubai Shopping Centre. In addition to shops in Computer Land offering hardware, software, components, repair capabilities and in some cases café style internet access, the ground floor of the shopping centre will include banks, TV stations, magazine and car companies, while above Computer Land on the second floor visitors will be able to take a break and refuel at the food court. Dubai Shopping Centre is located opposite the City Centre mall in Deira and covers 60,000 square feet. Would-be exhibitors and other interested parties should call +9714 294 9992 for further information.
