Egyptian paint company Pachin is deploying Oracle e-business suite to automate a number of key business processes, including financial processes, purchasing, asset management and inventory. Faced by rising demand from Egypt and the rest of the Middle East, Pachin sought a solution that would enable the organisation to streamline core business units, maximise its human assets and enable the company to implement a just in time (JIT) delivery service for its customers nationwide. After evaluating its primary requirements and assessing all possible enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions available, Pachin determined that its requirements would be best served by the scalability and functionality offered by Oracle. To be deployed over four stages, the implementation covers twelve modules, including general ledger, account payables, inventory, production management, cost management, order management, account receivables, purchasing, fixed assets and cash management. “Pachin is the leader in the Egyptian paint market and our operations are growing across the region,” says Ahmed Maher, IT and Logistics director at Pachin. “Our size, our variety, our modern manufacturing, our sales and marketing — all of this makes us number one in the market. By choosing Oracle, we aim to stay at the forefront of the industry and realize more effective business through automating day-to-day organisational functions,” he adds. “Only a few years back, the company invested US$32m in a new manufacturing plant outside Cairo, in El-Obour. It is a fully modern manufacturing and warehousing facility. Oracle e-business suite is the right tool for enabling us to maximise return –on-investment from the plant, and allow us to roll out just in time production for our range of paint-based products.” Atef Helmy, managing director of Oracle Egypt, expressed his commitment to providing Egyptian organisations with the solutions they need to sustain their growth. “Oracle is committed to empowering enterprises such as Pachin with the ability to develop their businesses and realise the highest return on investment on their resources. Moving forward, I am confident that Pachin will reap the benefits of this choice and continue its rapid growth not only in Egypt but across the region.”
