Travel agents in Dubai are boycotting Air-India Express, the recently launched budget carrier. The Dubai Travel & Tour Agents Group, which comprises more than 40 agents, including Dnata, vote unanimously not to sell the airline’s tickets. The group took the decision because the airline had not given clear information about its reservations systems nor consulted with agents before launching services. "Air India Express has no office in Dubai nor any representation and we cannot talk to anybody. They have yet to provide clear information on reservations, selling systems and procedures despite launching the airline on Friday,’ Labib Jaroudi, the head of the trade group, told Gulf News. The travel agents in the group, which sell about 80% of airline tickets in Dubai, were also put off by the airline’s low commissions.
