Logicom named top IBM partner

Distributor Logicom has been awarded IBM PC division’s top award for distribution for the fiscal year 2004. The award comes after the company reported growth in sales of IBM notebooks and desktop PCs of 50% year on year.

Distributor Logicom has been awarded IBM PC division’s top award for distribution for the fiscal year 2004. The award was presented in recognition of Logicom’s sales in the Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan (MEEP) region. The company reported growth in sales of IBM notebooks and desktop PCs of 50% year on year. The aptly titled ‘IBM Business Partner Top Achievement Award for Significant Business Contribution in 2004’ was received by Logicom Dubai’s assistant general manager, Nicholas Argyrides. Speaking at IBM’s partner conference, where the award was given, he said: “This is a tangible recognition of our successful efforts to promote IBM throughout the MEEP region. We are confident that the solid foundations we have laid will enable us to reach more channel partners during 2005, and to achieve even better results.” Logicom’s IBM product manager, Sajith Raj reinforced this view: “We have managed to increase IBM’s business in the region by a significant proportion. Our sales team has the edge when it comes to selling IBM, and with increased focus outside the UAE, we look forward to even higher sales and market share, ”he added Over the next year, Raj says Logicom will further pursue its strategy of targeting partners and reaching users at the higher end of the market with IBM products to increase market share.
